The Folks at Search Metrics lay down exactly what Google takes into account for SEO

We're pleasantly surprised that the poeple at Search Metrics seem to have a very detailed chart of what affects your Google listing.  Of course, Google keeps their search formula secret, but extended detailed testing by SEO centric companies reveal much of what effects a site's google ranking.  Check the chart out here:

Is Drupal the best CMS?

Came across a great article by Mark Koester on why Drupal is the most powerful and versatile website content mangement system (CMS), and is the best if you have competent skilled Drupalers to help (such as the staff at Digital Immersion).  Ok, he didn't specifically mention us, but I think he did sum up the case for Drupal pretty well.  (note: Digital Immersion prefers Drupal but also highly recommends Wordpress and Joomla)

Why Migrate From Wordpress to Drupal?: Drupal vs. Wordpress

Drupal’s superiority, as many client of mine come to see, is that it doesn’t assume you just want a blog. Drupal assumes very little except that you want to organize a bunch of different content and users and you want to add extra features (=extensions, plugins, modules, etc.).

...

Typically clients come me desiring to migrate to Drupal, because they want more than a blog. As you can see from the amount of modules on Drupal.org and tons of examples of Drupal sites, there is almost no limit to what you can build with Drupal. So, in my opinion, you end up migrating to Drupal because eventually sites and web businesses eventually need more than just a blog.

That’s when Drupal is ready as your CMS of choice for content, products, groups, images, users, videos and bunch of other stuff that we “glue” and “craft” together into a special community of needs and doings.

Drupal Restaurant and Food Websites

Drupal excells particularly well with restaurant and food related websites.  You'll of course want to let your customers know where you are, what's on the menu, maybe a daily specials page, and if your restaurant has events you'll want a robust powerful event calendar, all included with Digital Immersion's Drupal package.  Also included is an email newsletter tool and all the social networking bells and whistles, so your customers can tell each other via social networking just how great you and your food is.  Shown here (to the right) is Aki's Cuisine.

Awesome Drupal Based Music Websites

With a nod to Hostbaby's rockin' music sites (Digital Immersion was founded by former Hostbaby staff), Digital Immersion has created a rockin' Drupal based platform for music websites.  We have over 25 different looks available for your music player, and amazing, powerful features like selling digital downloads automatically, Digital Immersion's music websites leave hostbaby, bandzoogle, and other caged music website systems in the dust.  With over 6000 free add-on modules for Drupal, these other systems just can't compete.

Shown here, the homepage for DJ Trevor Vichas.  The front page is his blog that includes links to events he is promoting or playing at.  Of course, the newsletter sign up and social network widgets are must-haves to keep the fans informed and engaged.  Subpages have some of his latest tracks available to play or download.  Lastly, we like to do add personal touches that are just plain cool.  In this case we embedded a youtube video of him playing *behind* the old fashioned tv in the header, so the tv actually plays when you visit the site.  Nothing is generic over here at Digital Immersion, each project is special.

Drupal has all the ingredients for a perfect blog

Thinking about doing a blog as part of your website, or even as the centerpiece of your site? Drupal has everything you need. Case in point, Fashion Under $50, a fun blog that explores inexpensive fashion ideas. With a blog, the most recent entries appear at the top.

Feature Overview and Tour - What do you want on your website pizza?

A quick look at some Drupal websites that use these functions:
  • Gallery
  • Blog
  • Calendar
  • Store
  • Guestbook

All screenshots are Digital Immersion websites.  On each page you can simply view images of each feature or you can use the space provided to actually submit a question about that type of feature.  On the last page you will have a chance to submit the entire questionaire.

Easy Jquery Galleries for Drupal

Hey folks,
came across this really neat list of jquery image galleries.  As all of our sites have jquery automatically loading, any of these galleries should be relatively easy to implement.  Check them out, some of them are really elegant.  There's a long list with examples here:

How easy is it to transfer your existing site to Drupal?

Digital Immersion's Drupal sites include a variety of fantastic add-on modules to facilitate easy transfer of content.  All of our sites include the CKeditor module that allows you to literally copy and paste content from your old website into the editor window.  The editor will keep the html code including fonts, colors, and images!  This means most pages can be transferred in a matter of seconds!  To copy a page from your old site to your new Drupal site simply do the following:
